  Experiencing Morocco like a local with a local - My wife and I had the most amazing trip to Morocco!!! Our guide/driver, Moulay Boustani with Best Moroccan Tours, was a consummate host, and ended up a friend!... read more On his recommendation, we stayed in the medina at Riad Dar Attika in Marrakech. We spent a couple of days sightseeing the historic monuments of Marrakech, eating great food and absorbing the exotic sights and sounds of Jemaa el-Fnaa, which is Marrakech’s main square.

Next we took a drive through the breathtaking Atlas mountains (a photographer's paradise) through Ouarzazate to Kelaat M'Gouna on the road of one thousand kasbahs! If you make it there, be sure and check out Hotel Ksar Kaissar. Such a beautiful hotel with fantastic service. From there we made another tour of the mountains and enjoyed a warm welcome and a traditional home-cooked meal with Moulay's family.

The last leg of our trip was to the Sahara. We stayed at Riad Dar Marhaba for a night in Merzouga, which was located on the edge of the desert (highly recommend). The next day we went on a camel ride through the dunes to a desert camp where we spent an enchanted evening under the stars.
